HAPPY BIRTHDAY SPREYDON SCHOOL

On Thursday 5th August 2010 Spreydon School celebrated their 138th School Birthday.

The School council made a muffin for every student and iced them in our Spreydon Colours (Yellow and Blue) We got to eat them at feed and Read time. They were very tasty.

The School Council presented the school with a birthday present. It was a new School Flag. It is very tall and colourful.

We were very lucky to have one of our House Leaders Mr Mark Lewis come along and help Mr Wardrop blow out the candles on our cake.

Mrs Carson made a fabulous Spreydon School cake. It had our heart on it. It looked amazing.

We can't wait to celebrate our Birthday next year.

We do wonder what the School Council will do to make it a special day next year?

During the week of 31 May - 04 June, Christchurch City Council staff were busy enhancing the riverbanks of the Heathcote River. The weeks work involved planting between the river and the boundary of Spreydon School. The House Leaders of Spreydon School were proud to assist with the planting.

The Spirit of Spreydon is focussing on Relationships this term, with the statement "To have the best connections with people and places." The school viewed the planting as a great opportunity for the children to build on their relationship with both the council and the habitat surrounding the school.
